At the beginning of 2024, we finally decided to take the plunge and try this adventure. We were aware that everything had already been invented, so without straying from the classic concept of a vacation apartment, we decided to make friendly, personalized service our hallmark and, from there, to improve and gain experience day by day.

Why Sankai

After setting up the solarium, we knew we wanted an oriental name for the apartment. Although we initially called it something else, the perfect name eventually came to us.

The name Sankai is inspired by the oriental concept sankai 山海, which literally means mountain and sea. This idea makes sense in the space itself, as the penthouse is located between the sea and the mountains, offering privileged views of both landscapes.

This pairing is very present in Asian cultural and aesthetic tradition as a symbol of balance between stability and movement, refuge and horizon, stillness and journey. Similar ideas appear in classical texts such as the Shan Hai Jing, an ancient compilation of Chinese tradition that combines mythical geography, nature, and cosmological symbolism, where mountains and seas represent the harmonious relationship between humans and their environment.

In addition, sankai can also be associated with the idea of a third level, a meaning that is symbolically integrated with the apartment, as the penthouse is located on the second floor and the solarium is on the top level, thus closing a small conceptual circle between space, name, and landscape.
